About Random Pick NEWS

Random Pick NEWS is an independent daily news summary for readers around the world, made to help you start the day well informed. Despite the name, nothing here is picked at random: every morning we publish, for each topic, a summary of the five most important stories, chosen by fixed criteria and each explained with what happened and the background needed to understand it.

What we do

The site has no reporting staff of its own and does not publish opinion. Each story in a summary is fully rewritten in our own words, after reading at least one published report, and more than one whenever other outlets covered it. The articles neither link to nor name the outlets consulted: statements are attributed to the people and institutions involved, and the sources of each story are kept on internal record for checking and corrections. The aim is to let readers grasp the essentials of the day in a few minutes.

How stories are chosen

Every morning, from 5.30am US Central Time, we gather the English-language news of the last 30 hours from established outlets, from any country, and publish one summary for each topic: politics, economy, weather, culture, games, technology, sports and health. The five stories in each summary are those reported by the most outlets and of the greatest public interest. A story already included in an earlier summary only returns when there are new developments reported that day. When a topic does not reach five stories, that topic’s summary is not published that day.

How the articles are produced

The articles are written from the reports consulted, and the editor monitors the published content and corrects the errors identified. The images are AI-generated illustrations and do not depict the actual events.

Who is responsible

The editor of Random Pick NEWS sets the selection and writing rules, supervises publication and is responsible for the site’s content. Random Pick NEWS is not linked to any political party, government or media company.
